Why should you choose Rutgers-Camden for your Physics degree?
Small Class Sizes
Our Physics major classes typically have less than 10 students. Small class sizes mean more one-on-one educational time with your professor, easy access to extra help when you need it, and plenty of opportunities to get involved.
Individual Attention
In our department, we pride ourselves on getting to know each one of our majors. We personally advise our students on navigating their degrees all the way up through graduation and take a personal interest in your success.
Undergraduate Research Opportunities
All of our undergraduate students are encouraged to begin independent research projects with a faculty member as early as their Freshman year. Active participation in research opens many doors for opportunities after graduation, whether your plans are to attend graduate school or enter the workforce.
Diverse and Inclusive Environment
In the Department of Physics, we know that great ideas come from collaboration within a respectful and inclusive environment. We value diversity and appreciate that people with different backgrounds will bring new and innovative perspectives to our classes and research.
Motivated Faculty
All of our faculty have active and vibrant research groups. Through research, publications, conferences, and grant funding, we are motivated to advance our fields of study and in the process, provide an immersive undergraduate experience for our students.
History of Prestigious Graduate School Acceptances and Job Offers
We have a proven history of success, with our students going on to graduate schools such as the University of Virginia, University of Pennsylvania, and Georgetown University, medical schools such as Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, and employment in industry including Edmund Optics and Lockheed Martin.
New and Modern Facilities
Innovative research requires modern, state-of-the-art facilities. Rutgers-Camden has demonstrated their commitment to STEM through the funding of two new buildings, the Nursing & Science Building, and the Joint Health Sciences Building. All of our instructional laboratories are taught in modern facilities with brand new, research-grade equipment.
